About SMCA
The Sheet Metal Contractors Association (SMCA) represents sheet metal contractors in Philadelphia and its surrounding areas. SMCA is the local chapter of SMACNA, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Assocation. Established in 1919, we have a standing reputation of providing resources and services to help members enhance their contracting businesses, as well as expand their markets and profitability.

What Do We Do?
With expertise in the sheet metal industry, SMCA members specialize in heating, ventilating and air conditioning; architectural sheet metal; industrial sheet metal; kitchen equipment; specialty stainless steel work; manufacturing; siding and decking; testing and commissioning; service; and energy management and maintenance.
Buildings represent nearly 39% of U.S. primary energy use.
Our contractors adhere to the standards created by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA). SMACNA standards address all facets of the sheet metal industry and are used by both contractors and workers when fabricating, assembling and installing products in buildings and construction projects. SMACNA writes and publishes the Duct Construction Standards, these standards are accepted by ASHRAE and the Building Code.
They employ highly trained and skilled craftsmen and women from Local 19, a long standing member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA).
